As I write this my BlackBerry Curve 8520 is sitting on my desk displaying the dreaded ‘Reload Software 552’ error. This means that it is dead.

I have done everything from re-installs, updates to 5.0, downgrades 4.7, OS Wipes, Factory Defaults...no matter what..but nothing is working...

this happened this morning after uninstalling some application from my device and then rebooting it, and now I sit with this problem. I’m not quite sure what to do now after attempting all of that? Dump it in the trash? I don’t have insurance so that means money wasted 

anyone out there who can help me pls pls pls!

You can try the "dead" software loader option. Browse to your program files -> common files -> research in motion -> apploader. Then right click on loader.exe and make a shortcut on your desktop. Right click on the shortcut you just made then go to properties, under the shortcut tab, by 'target' add a space to the end of the string and then type "/nojvm" without the quotes.

Then take the battery out of your phone, open the shortcut, click next, the connection box should be empty. Now put the battery back into the phone, the moment the red light goes on the phone you need to plug the usb cable in, the connection box will show something when your phone is detected then just click next and continue with the software reload.
