I'm trying to relocate my decoder, which I haven't used since the use of the SES5 satellite was discontinued a couple of years ago, to my mother's TV, as her decoder, which is newer than mine, just died a couple of weeks ago.
I've reset it to factory defaults, but before I'd done that it was still showing the SES5 satellite, because that was the last one it had been connected to. I never bothered to have it re-aligned to find the IS20 satellite when it became the only one OVHD decoders could use. Since I've reset the unit to factory defaults it is in fact recognising the IS20 satellite, but I still can't get it activated. When I go through the process on my phone of entering my postal code and STB number I get the old message “Connection problem or invalid MMI code”. The OVHD call centre told me my decoder is not useable anymore and I'll have to buy a new one, but they couldn't give me a definitive reason as to why, so I'm not sure if I can believe them! Could it be because it hasn't been used for so long?
Just for interest's sake, the signal is 100% and the quality varies from the high 70s to the low 80s.
