Remix OS, Android on a desktop PC

Can someone explain the need for USB3? I see lots of talk that it doesn't need high end hardware, but you can only install from a usb stick via usb3? But the above post shows very clearly an iso image. Can I not put that on any install media?

I am downloading the iso from Mick's post, so I'll know soon enough.
Mick's version he posted is different and based on kikat. He probably posted it here to **** with some people.

Usb3 is recommended, not required. They say you can run off usb 2 but it might be very slow. If you plan on installing to a hard drive it doesn't matter. From what I have read...

Gotta get my base to Uber status town hall 11 here I come

Have you guys been able to run remix ? I have old pentium created remix os bootable usb ( 2.0 ) I get the boot menu but after detecting x86 pc restarts and back to boot menu. Same with guest and resident mode.

Show us more screen shots please and post your specs and real world experience the AnTuTu score doesn't say much about how the software performs, it's bugs and if it's ready for daily use.

Only tried it for about 20 minutes so cannot offer much feedback to be honest.

Feels very nippy on Quad Core i7-3630 system with 6GB RAM via USB3

It did not adjust my screen resolution to 1600 x 900 so Firefox and Chrome were too big.

Don't really have a use for this at the moment since I have other SBC's which support ARM based Android.

I have been using Remix OS for about hours now.

PC Spec:
i3 | 3.3Ghz | 8GB Ram | 64bit |

UBS Spec:
Lexar JumpDrive M20 Mobile USB 3.0 Flash Drive | 16GB

So far so good.

Installed apps:
- Google Play
- Facebook
- Chrome
- SHAREit - Doesn't work, will try it when I boot from my Laptop. At the moment I am running on PC.
- TakeAlot
- Discovery

WhatsApp doesn't want to install ("The device is not compatible")

What I have noticed so far:
- Highliting text does not work using mouse.
- Right click on the default browser also doesn't work, works on chrome.
- Music player does not load for me, screen goes blank.
- No Google services from Fresh Boot, found a link with intrusctions for adding Google Play Services: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-install-google-play-services-remix-t3292087

ok so on my little mini PC I have no luck at all.

I created the USB, booted. picked an option, and got given a warning read/write speed is 7.1 anythign under 10 and performance may suffer.

I figured the problem is the USB drive or the USB 2.0 slot.

find new links, Partition hard drive, format partition to fat 32, extract ISO files to the partition, run software that allows the partition to be bootable. restart.

get option of choosing partition

choose Remix.

guest or other, pick other.

get same read/write speed error.

I think to myself, hey it wont be that bad....

two hours later, still not seen the remix screen....

basically, I have wasted an evening because that miniPC is to slow.

oh well, back to Windows 7 I go...

Figured it out. Mini pc is 32 bit. Not 64 bit. Running on the laptop now...

Got an old Amd 64bit CPU think its dual core Athlon. But it only has 512mb ram rest of the ram failed so thats whats left. It runs lubuntu fine. Think this will run, don't want to waste my time?
