Remote acces on local(IS) only.

Hi Guys,

Like the Title says is this possible can i connect with my 3G data card with unrestricted apn connect to a local account only desktop at home.

Lmao its Monday I understand

Basically Pc at home is runing on IS local with wippien(sftware) which does not seem as good as hamachi.

also have VNC which am going to setup on the machine to control it remotely.

Anyways...dunno that software. All you basically need is - A dyndns app or dynamic dns address provided by your isp ( openweb does this for instance. My home PC's dynamic address is <myaccname>.dns.openweb.co.za ) and the abovementioned VNC app and open ports to connect through :)

Cool , does openweb offer the service at a cost ?
 
Dynamic DNS with all their accounts for free afaik :)
 
Eh I cant imagine a guide being necessary. If you even know of VNC you should be able to set up a server and listener(s). As for the dynamic dns - its the (adsl username)-(@openweb.co.za) + (.dns.openweb.co.za)

used 3G data card from laptop to desktop in AUS using Hamachi and RD
 
Hamachi cant setup an IP using a local-only acc tho...nor would a local-only connection run well to an international host. I assumed you meant a 3G card in SA :P
 
yes tried from 3G connection to 3g connection as well just as a test and it worked

so i can only remote to it when i have dyndns setup on the pc at home .
 
So it seems :)

The openweb accounts have automatic dynamic dns addresses so give it a try
