Hi everyone,

I’m looking for someone around Cape Town who could help me set up a small DIY automation project.

The goal is to connect a Shelly Uni Plus and a micro-relay (Finder 34.51.7.012.0010 or Omron G5V-1 12 V DC, or ...) to a spare remote control (classic 4-button rolling code) that calls a private elevator and opens the garage gate, so the remote can be triggered by Home Assistant.

No direct wiring to the lift itself — it’s just about bridging the button on the remote through a relay.

If you’re comfortable with low-voltage electronics, soldering, and Shelly devices, please get in touch.

I am ready to pay for this little work.

Thanks in advance!

This is a 10 minute project with an opto-isolator. No relay required.

ESP32 running ESPHome. Opto isolator (https://www.robotics.org.za/PC817-DIP) and a 470Ohm resistor on a scrap of Veroboard (or even dead bugged). Solder the resistor to an output pin of the ESP32, and to the input pin of the opto. Solder the input Ground of the opto to Ground on the ESP32. Solder the output pins of the opto across the button of the remote. Done.

Thanks a lot for the info. I don't have any skills for such a job, do you know where I could get this done, like an electronic shop in Cape Town ? Thanks
