I would you like to connect to my home pc from work. Both machines are on DSL and I have access to both routers.

The first thing i would like to know is whether it is possible?

If so, then how on earth do you do it?

The main thing is to make sure the router of the machine you're wanting to control has the correct port forwarded. Then you just need to enter the ip addy into RDC.

According to my windows firewall setting it's TCP 3389.

Also make sure your passwords are very strong, leaving a port wide open to a remote desktop service can be risky!

if your router supports Dyndns you can setup a subdomain on www.dyndns.org for free, which would make things easier for you.

I use ssh .. and then tunnel to that port on localhost/pc. ie router firewall open to ssh but blocks remote desktop while pc has it both open.

openweb has free dns. Its works but its slow because I use IS at home and SAIX at work.

Thanks very much!
