Remote Desktop package expired

So I've installed XP SP3 RC1... and tonight I wanted to have a shufty at the PC at my work.

Connected via VPN, and called up remote desktop.

It flipped a rude .!.. at the attempt... and caused myself to be Most Unhappy.

Forsooth... why not just a warning that the software package was outdated, but allows /me still to use it???

bah, humbug!

Any idea how I can return to sanity?

edit : a bit of hacking helps

copy the two files located in c:\windows\system32\dllcache to c:\windows\system32 :

08/04/2004 02:00PM 407,552 bytes mstsc.exe
08/04/2008 02:00PM 655,360 bytes mstscax.dll

hmfffffff

note - This might work, but I don't guarantee it, windows being windows, and winders might replace the earlier versions with current versions, thus borking everything again...
