Hi Guys

Does remote desktop allow the person sitting at the host and also another person that is miles away to see the same screen
and work on the pc at the same time or only one at a time.Basically we need to train someone over the telephone to use
a program.

Thanks
DD

I don't think the Windows Remote Desktop allows you to be "Logged in" at the same time, if you log into the local pc from the remote pc the the local one gets logged off.

The view & interact with a remote PC you need a VNC Application to connect to the other PC. With VNC you can see as well as control the other computer with your mouse or keyboard. VNC works with a client & a Server, you (the viewer) act as the Client & the pc you are viewing acts as the Server, you then log onto the server using an IP address & password.

I use UltraVNC (FREE), which is quite good, although there are others.

Hopes this Helps...

I use RealVNC. I can see wat the person on the other computer is doing while they doing it plus (if they keep off the mouse/keyboads) I can take control as if my mouse/keyboard/screen was connected to the computer and they can see wat im doing on the screen

edit: mh348's app works well too, so basically u looking for at vnc

I also use RealVNC. It supports SSL encryption as well. (Paid Version)

 N7.1

like mh348 said, Remote Desktop does not allow two users to be logged in at the same time. But what you could do is ask the person on the other side (on the PC which you want to access) to send you a Remote Assistance Invitation (Start > Help and Support > Ask for assistance). That way you can see what the other person is seeing and you can even take control of the keyboard and mouse.

PS. just make sure the computer is allowed to send remote assistance invitations (System Properties > Remote > Remote Assistance)
