Hi folks,

I'm looking for a (freeware/open source) Windows based download manager that has a web-based remote interface. Quite often I find a good download, but the firewall at work blocks the actual download. It also blocks VNC-type access to my home setup. I can, however, get to my web server at home (dynDNS is a wonderful thing). I'm looking for a web interface then, that will start a download on my home machine - so it's down and ready for me when I get home.

Any questions? Right - go find that software! Seriously, I've seen it somewhere before, but all I can find now is linux-based software (my machine spends most of it's dual-booting time in Windows).

Can you log in to...

http://www.logmein.com/

that has a web interface....

Set up an account for yourself on logmein (use the free version)

install the logmein client (add computer) on your home computer

then when you are at work... you log in there... do whatever you need to do on your home computer... and log out.

Except that it's blocked. :(

Tried that one already. I need something that presents a plain HTTP interface.

Free download manager has a web interface, check that out...
Doh! So I see - I have it installed and use it regularly. The Remote option is kinda hidden away, but I got it now! Many thanks, now I'm sorted without even having to install extra!! :)
