Hello all; hope you find this post,

We have recently purchased the 'Remote Link Eye for DSTV' at a local tech store. The salesman told us that all we have to do it plug in the white Tv cord from our bedroom Tv into the Tv-link and plug that into the Tv. We have done all of it but it is not working. We have changed all our settings to the correct options and it is still not working (RH In/Out, enabling Tv Link ETc)

I read on another forum that a problem could be with our 'splitter'. I have found it and it has 4 white cords plugged into it. I know this is the problem but I don't know what the solution to the problem is. We also do not have Xtraview enabled, it is available but inactive.

We have two decoders, both downstairs. We also have two Tv's upstairs which we can watch from but are unable to change the channel from, which is why we got the Tv-link.

Hope you guys can help :)

Vuyo, just curious why you have 2 decoders without extraview between them? That sounds very expensive.

For the TV eye to work, you need splitters that allow its power and signal to pass through them, what I did on my setup was expose a lot of copper from the coax cable, and screw the relevant ends to one another in the box, unfortunately this is no longer in my setup as I have changed to an HD system, so I can't post any photo's.

If you get one of these, and wire it so the decoder plugs into the "in" terminal, your eye should work

I got the same problem, got picture and sound but can't change the channel.

Even when an installer puts a Link Eye system in, it doesn't even last - certainly, mine hasn't, from the installation done earlier this year.

I had my doubts at the time, because the packaging was dusty, for the unit that's located in the one bedroom ; I wonder where he dug it out from, to give to us as part of his work.

Plus, the batteries in the remote (from the time of the install) are dead / remote's packed up (?) ; they used to last a long time, both the batteries and remotes themselves in years and decades gone by.

All amounts to plastic etc. junk being manufactured these days.

The splitter must conduct DC
Then it will work
Cannot you use a 3-way f-connector?

This one has a DC path (red-line)
