Hi i'm hoping someone can help me with this.
i Brought a remote link eye for my primary dstv decoder (i'm running two 1110 decoders with extra view) i told the tech person at multi-choice this and they said it is fine, all i need to do is change my primary decoder to RF Out and put TV link feature to enabled. when i do this my secondary decoder stops working. is there any way i can get my remote link eye to work as well as my secondary decoder.

Thanks a mill.

It Depends on the set-up.

1.How many TV are connected? and How RCA/RF
2.Is the decoders in the same room?
3.Any splitters/boosters used?

And Does the eye work, even though the heartbeat is not functioning.

I have 2 1110 decoders primary RF in and secondary RF Out.i have one decoder upstairs and one downstairs, each decoder has 1 TV connected to it, the primary decoder is in a different room to the t.v. there are no boosters and as far as i know there are no splitters either. yes the eye still works without the heartbeat.

If you change your heartbeat cable's port then you have to change it in the settings as well. Just make sure your communication port under Xtraview settings matches the physical location

corect me if i am wrong, you have 2 decoders one in the lounge and 1 in the bedroom, you have the eye in the bedroom as well so you want to be able to change the chanel of the on the decoder in the lounge?

if the is what you want to do the eye is not needed, you can change the chanel of the decoder in the lounge with the decoder in the bedroom , go to remote settings of the lounge look for the option that says accept relayed commands make sure thats on, and for the decodee in the bedroom nake sure the option to relay comands is on.

no the primary decoder is in the my downstairs lounge, i don't have a TV in there as it is for entertaining, i have a cable run from there to the bedroom.

okay so the tv link is used for the tv thats tv conected to the primary decoder (thats in a different room)
use a spliter (the ellies 1 in out 2 is fine http://www.ellies.co.za/index.php?id=1760)on you rf in ( i am guesing thats how extra view worked in the first place) out of the spliter let one go to the bedroom as the heartbeat and the other to the tv thats conected to the primary
it should work fine.

the t.v in the bedroom is connected to the primary decoder, the decoder is set to rf in, i cant switch the eye on in that mode, i have to switch the decoder to fr out in order to get the eye to work, but when i do do that i loose signal to the secondary decoder.

so conect both the secondary decoder and tv link to the rf in (with a spliter) it will work mines is set up that way

but its not the secondary decoder im trying to connect to the tv link, its the primary one im trying to get working off the tv link.

ok done this but the decoder wont allow my to switch the remote eye option on if i dont change the Decoder setting from rf in to rf out.if i do that the second decoder looses connection.

I had endless carp with this technology until I removed the splitter from the "network".
From what I have found experimenting, the splitter splits the 9V current that the decoder sends and the Eye ends up not having enough current to function properly.
To make matters more interesting, the newer decoders seem to be able to provide more current, but haphazardly.
In the end I put the splitter back, disassembled the Eye, and provided the eye with an independent 9V power source, then it worked fine.

Use the RF out on the primary, as the TV link will only work on there... Split it 2-ways with an SLx2 active splitter. Run one output to the TVlink and the other to the second decoder for the heartbeat. Put a DC blocker on the output that goes to the second decoder. Remember to change your XtraView settings accordingly.
