Remote router access not functioning via NO-IP for security app?

Morning all,

Perhaps someone can assist please.

I cannot access my Huawei B618 router remotely via NO-IP for a home intrusion alarm app called allSecure, IOS app.

My Vodacom APN set to internet, or unrestricted makes no difference. Seems like the Vodacom sim is blocked or restricted??

My Telkom data sim when placed into router is functional. APN used is unrestricted.

My NO-IP account is reconfigured each time when swapping the sim card.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Morning,

Look at the status page to find external IP, then see if you can access the router from outside with that IP, if it work the you know that No IP has issues, if not then you know router/firewall/port forwarding or unrestricted issue

Google what is my IP from a machine connected behind the Huawei, then compare it to your result of the WAN interface on status page.

Also do trace routes in and out.

With Vodacom you need unrestricted and you need to “apply” for that and even then sometimes it’s not enabled, so you need to confirm that.

Apparently need to request unrestricted APN from Vodacom with a form application and copy of Id, can take up to 7 days... PITA

That is correct, normally it take 0:30 - 5:00 to activate, they are quick (normally)

Ok, so Vodacom have confirmed I have an Unrestricted APN now, however still cant gain access to the router via remote access- Port forward.??

I have bypassed the NO IP host address.

The Telkom sim works.??

Router is the Huawei B618.

Any ideas would be appreciated, I'm rather technically challenged in this area...

Vodacom eventually provided me with a Unrestricted APN.
