Hi All,

I've always wanted to do this but on so many occasions have given up so here's hoping you guys can help me out.

I have a mac mini running Snow Leopard that is wirelessly connected to my Netgear DG834GT ADSL modem/router with custom firmware from DG Team http://dgteam.ilbello.com/ which is connected to a 10MB ADSL line with WebAfrica (line + access).

I am not an IT guru but know my way around so please keep the information/advice in plain English

Cheers.

The easiest no-config way is to install the (free) teamviewer on each machine.

give mac mini static IP in network manager. same range as your router. either 10.0.0.2 or 192.168.0.2 or somsuch... forward the ports you want to your mac mini IP on your router... 80 for http... etc... ... go to dyndns.org .... get a login.. setup dynamic dns --> choose a domain xxx.dyndns.org... enter your dyndns details on the appropriate netgear router page.... and voila... you can access you mac mini from anywhere @ xxx.dyndns.org.. just not from within your network.

No experience on the port forwarding bit so will nead a step-by-step and if there is an online resource for teamviewer, if thats the consensus, then will really appreciate a push in the right direction.

What are the various ports I would require?

TeamViewer is the answer!!!

I can access my Mac from my Win machine, my iPhone and via a web browser.

Thanks all.
