I was wondering which apps could safely be deleted from the Vodacom S5 offering? Please post here detailing which pre-installed apps you have removed. (Phone rooted and playing with "Root app delete")

p.s OT Can you back up the entire S5 to your PC/Mac? I dont fancy a cloud backup at mobile data rates and slow speeds.

I wouldn't recommend deleting any of the Samsung apps- they generally are more embedded into the OS than one may think.

A better option would be to freeze the apps using a utility such as Titanium Backup. Perhaps post your question in the S5 thread, there might be someone that has done something similar to what you are asking.

Or on stock S5 do what I did.
Disable what you don't want from applications and uninstall what you can.
I have disabled all the vodacom crap as well as My magazine and a few other things that insist on running in the background even after you turn them off and can not be uninstalled.

can i delete the vlive thing...says its an OS component but I dont believe it..Ive deleted masses of stuff already...not very logical about it but the phone is still working :)
My active apps monitor thing says Im running 1.25GB now out of 1.81...bringing it down...

I just disabled it on my phone. Also ended up at around 1.25gb running apps on fresh reboot.
