Removing Blackberry Internet Service from BB

I want to completely stop using BIS and want my applications like Twitter, Facebook, email etc that were associated with BIS to only use data that I will purchase no more BIS but all the procedures that I was told to do by VODACOM data consultants where I have to go to TCP/IP on my phone and type internet on the APN then remove battery are not working so what must I do to remove this BIS and only use data or airtime for my apps anyone who can help because I am even thinking of doing a factory reset.
