Removing glass from inside the door ?

so my sister was in a smash and grab few weeks back and the guys who fitted her new glass were not able to get all the glass out

Mainly cause there was alot of wires in the door and they couldn't get the vacuum in

its a polo 6

So does anyone know where i can take it or can i just try myself ?

I would take the vehicle back and make them get the glass out, they were paid to put in a new window and take out the remaining glass.

I had a broken window before (not from a smash and grab thankfully) and they said the same to me and I refused to leave before they cleaned all the glass out, lo and behold they got it all out with a little extra effort.

Absolutely, the fitment centre must do it - they have decent vacuum cleaners, and don't let them kid you that they cannot get there. Vacuum is the only way.

'If' you want to do this yourself join a piece of hosepipe (30-40cm) to the vacuum pipe. It's thin & flexible getting into tight spaces and will have more suction than a bigger diameter pipe.

We are an independant autoglass installer. Every car that comes in for a new side glass gets my special check: rapidly open and close the door to hear if any glass is present.

Only once there is silence are my guys allowed to replace the door panel.

Take the car back. There are usually small drain holes at the bottom crimp joint of the door that a home made fitting on the end of a strong vacuum cleaner can pull the glass shards through.
