My wife has recently changed jobs and we therefore removed some stickers from her car. The stickers leave a small amount of glue on the paint and the outline of where the stickers where. They where only on the car for about 4 months so there shouldn't be noticeable fading. It's a Golf 5. I'm wondering how easiest to remove this?

I say easiest because elbow grease does work. It's just that elbow grease would take about 16 hours to complete the job.

Is there some kind of product I could use for this? A polish maybe. I was thinking of an attachment to a drill that would buff it out. Would that work?

Methylated spirits should work. If not, Mr Min does a good job of 'dissolving' the gunk. If all else fails, WD40 will do it. Use a fair amount of 'solvent' applied with a cloth, allow it to soak a bit then wipe off the gunge with a clean rag. Different adhesives react differently to whatever you decide to use. In my experience, none of these products will harm the existing paintwork.

Thanks. Will try meths. ... What is WD40? I have Q20 --- same thing? Wait wait ... I'll GFGI.

Typical. No meths in the house. Only turps. No Mr Min. Only Mr Muscle Oven cleaner. Off to shops.

Mr Min removed 97% of the gunk. Meths did the rest.

You must be bat**** crazy to be putting turps, mr min, meths, drills etc on your car.

It's just paint right? VW car paint. If Mr Min is cool on varnish how could it harm paint designed to last longer than the car?

Mr Min contains solvents. What do you use when you want to remove paint from something? A solvent. Why would you put a product not designed for it on a 200k car when you can spend like R50 extra and be sure it's not going to damage your paint? (and probably work better too)

Mr Min has been removing sticker gunk for years, and certainly will not harm the paint...

Second that, ask any biker how he gets those pesky dead bug crap from his bike/helmet....Pledge Lemon. My wife knows where to find "her" can.
Say no more...use it / don't use it
