Renaissance medical aid

They haven't paid any of our medical bills either , we have unpaid bills from Sep 2007. The summonses from doctors, hospitals are coming in thick and fast. Apparently you as the member are laible for the accounts in the event of non payment of the medical scheme.

In the short term, you'll just have to suck it up and pay yourself. However, the clients do technically have a claim against the company...but at the moment you can't force it via legal means due to the curatorship. If the company gets liquidated then the clients should be (close to) the front of the queue when it comes to claims against the remaining assets.

In other words, you'll probably get the money...but it could take *very* long. Be sure to stay on top of this...people try sneaky things when a company is looking shaky.
 
Humanity Medical Aid and Allcare Administrators

Have just found out that despite absolute assurances that accounts would be paid, this has not been done. In fact accounts that they had authorised at the pharmacy have been reversed, leaving us with huge debt.
It is just so disgraceful that this can happen to medical aid when there is the Council for Medical Schemes that is supposed to protect members and keep a very strict eye on the schemes.
It is criminal to take our contributions every month and then not pay the accounts. Just unheard of and whoever is responsible should be in jail.
Why are there no other members of Humanity talking up?

Hey guys, I've been hit with the same sh*t only earlier this year after lots of phone calls to every possible avenue I had to pay the 20k odd and was told that they might refund my once the company is financially stable - since I believe in reality, this will never happen. Hopefully the tax man smiles on me...
 
Where do I join to fight for justice

I also need to join the force to fight for the full settlement of unpaid claims by Renaissance Health Medical Scheme. R 45,000 in unpaid medical bills. Where do I sign up. I will have to keep trying as the link www.medicalaction.co.za is still under construction. Will check again in a few days time.

I also joined a group on Facebook. this group may be worth becoming a part of - Renaissance (Prosperity) Medical Scheme - Leaves us in trouble

Ask anyone else you know. We need to stop the way that the administrators get away with this immoral behaviour everytime.

Make them pay.
 
You know what sucks? Apparently you can't be at more than one medical scheme, so how do you hedge yourself against a bad scheme? They should let you be on two schemes if you want too.

The company will not pay you back as they can not become finacially stable anymore, they are being liquidated. What I find disturbing is that Renaissance and Humanity have the same Administaror (Prosperity) and they have gone bust on the same date!!! Have done some research into this and Prosperity can be taken to task for mismanagement.

And how is this, like Rosina says: Accounts that has been paid up to a year ago are now being reversed. So we are getting accounts now for services done a long time ago, so the debt is just getting bigger and bigger. But we have been paying subs all this time, where is the justice?
