Renault Clio RS Cup

That sounds like your standard "Service Plan" which will offer you as little as possible. :p

If you are interested in a car and want true peace of mind motoring, then ask for a quote on a full maintenance plan.

You don't really need a full maintenance plan if you have a warranty. The warranty will cover anything that breaks.

The only things a maintenance plan typically covers, over and above a service plan, are brake pads, clutches and wiper blades. So perhaps do the math on what these items are likely to cost and compare to the maintenance plan cost.

to be honest, thats one of the reasons i like it, because of the auto box. I will be using this as my commute to work car, and I want a auto for that at the very least. This car then allows me to have a good ride and be pretty economical when i drive normally, plus being well specced, but also have loads of fun when i want to.. The paddle shifts seemed pretty responsive when i tried them.

tend to disagree on the warranty vs. service plan thing.
the service plan wotn replace anything if it breaks. and these days parts are very expensive.
whereas a warranty will replace it.

i'd take a warranty over a sp anyday, based purely on the predictable cost of motoring. with a warranty, all you need to do is then get the service schedule pricing and you are sorted. no surpises!
if you get a sp only, then if something breaks, you are in for an unknown amount.

mp is the sweet spot i guess...

I hear some say that, if it breaks under warranty, they will say it is due to wear and tear.

I'm afraid you are wrong.

Maintenance plan covers everything from disc pads to discs to all of the servicing costs to clutch/gearbox - in fact, EVERYTHING except tyres and petrol.

No "wear and tear" items are covered at all.

Well, i have decided on the Clio RS Lux and will get Leather seats as an extra.. The wife didnt like the yellow much so i am getting a silver one ;p

Ajax, it seems to me like your mind is made up. You love the Clio, then go for it mate and all the best. I love it too.

Very good choice, they awesome, so much better than boring Polos and Jap cars. I cant believe the tripe I am reading here about French cars, coming into Africa with such technically high spec'd cars is difficult and Renault hard a terrible time, the worst problem being the AA mechanics who didnt have a clue what they were doing, they seem sorted now and are selling very well, as for the new Clio losing value, go and see what you will pay for one on Autotrader. Renault are not the most successful F1 engine manufacturer for nothing. They brilliant cars and the Renault sport cars clean the Jap and German cars up in every CAR magazine shootout, Megane and Clio.
