Rent A Wreck

Hi guys,

Its there such a place, or similar in CT?

Rent A Wreck in JHB has old cars - like 10-20 years, I guess, for pretty cheap. I think I paid R30 a day the last time I used them (some years ago).

When I was in CT last I rented a car for real cheap from one company... the only "catch" was that the car rented had advertising emblazoned all over the side of the Golf. Made no difference to me and I recall it being really cheap. Let me see if I can find it...

I'm sure it was Value Car Hire (www.valuerentalcar.com) but I see no mention of that advertising special anymore... maybe phone and find out!

Thanks man. Looks like the "value" part has disappeard - prices are on par with Budget.

The GM of Value Car Hire (Collin) left Value Car Hire and opened his own company Yes Car Hire. They are cheaper than Value Car Hire.

rent-a-wreck is now closed I think. They were for many years in the Bo-Kaap. My all time fav rental from them was a ford escort 1978 and the paint colour was indeterminate shades of rusted sheetmetal.
It was a sure fire attention grabber on the Camps Bay beachfront. I parked the thing about 3 km from my house and would sneak in and out under the cover of darkness.
