Hi all,
Hoping that you can assist me with this dilemma.
I had a business a few years back that went bust. Long story short, the business is now de-registered.
At the time that the business went under I had 3 rental agreements for various laptops and pc equipment. The contracts were handed over to legal and I have since paid off the outstanding finance amounts on those agreements. Now though the rental company has started debiting me directly for the rentals, and insisting that the 90 day termination policy is still in effect, and that I can only settle the contract after 90 days (paying the rental every month in the meantime), and then additionally pay an amount for the transfer of the goods into my name.
Most of the items were stolen from my office (one of the many reasons my business went under)
I do not have any qualms with paying the settlement amount but can they really force me to hold to the 90 day termination notice??
Any advice would be appreciated.
