Hi Guys

Some advise please, which utilities should tenant be responsible for or is this dependent on Property being sectional title or full title?

Utilities:
Water?
Sanitation ?
Refuse ?

Thanks

Water & Electricity the rest is the owners problem

The argument thats being pushed is that property is full title hence(Simplex) rest of charges(Sanitation R300 + Refuse R167) being passed on tenant, doesnt seem right to me.

If the property is in a estate or complex it is the owners problem ( usually covered by the levy )

Our Tenant paid Electricity, Water, Sanitation and Refuse. We only paid the property rates. This was a free standing house.

When we rented a house, we did not pay property taxes, we paid for water, electricity, sanitation and refuse.

I would reckon this is completely dependant on your agreement with the landlord.

I wouldn't expect to pay the taxes and that's about it.

Electricity +/- water. The ****ty owners pass the onus on tenants and is exactly why i will be moving out of new place as soon as lease is up.. typically the reason they pass the buck is because some agencies package the water, electricity, sanitation & refuse in one bill which is easier for the owner to just pass on to tenant.

For me it's all about the unscrupulous nature of rental agencies.. the agent we had said just wanter but then post move we find its sanitation, refuse & maintenance there of which is essentially part of the leavy @R400/month. <-- so yea I'm moving. Besides the fact that the idiotic body corporate decided to sell the soul to Greencom and refuse Vuma from providing services in estate.. so bye bye
