Love tinkering with this kind of stuff. I'm using Agent DVR are you only using the DVR unit (standalone hardware) or do you have software and server up and running?
You need to look into your systems arm/disarm settings. With Agent DVR I can setup rules for arm/disarm. So, I disable things like notifications, emails when I am home.
You can go fancy and have it setup in ways like auto-disarming when at home using your wifi connection. But that's probably another system entirely maybe on a rasberypy or those security kits.
