What is the normal repair time for a Business 512 ADSL service from Telkom?

About 3 months ago my business line was down for 5 days. Telkom is the ISP and in the end all they had to do was reset the account or something to fix it. Nevertheless, 5 days? Is this normal?

A client has Business 512 as well and has been down since Moday 21 November in the Edenvale area. Nearly 2 weeks now. He has had to get wireless to run his business.

We know Telkom does not care and one has no choice except going the wireless route, but it makes me mad that they are allowed to act in this way. And we are powerless to do anything because our government is too weak to take action.

No wonder so many foreign businesses go elsewhere when they find out that they have to deal with Telkom.

This is the result of Telkom's "best effort service" without any SLA. I really feel sorry for the businesses relying on the crap Telkom ADSL offering.

To be fair Telkom ground staff (once passed the horrible call centers) Are generally good, all problems i had with DSL have been resolved within a day to 2 days tops.

my business dsl line goes on the fritz every time it rains, the idiot from telkom came and made sure the box was stuck on the wall properly then left, didn't solve the problem, thats over a month ago and they just won't come back again!

So get a reference number again and again and contact their Accounts dept threatening to raise a dispute and insist upon a credit for non-availability of service.
