repairing xbox 360 controller

Hey guys

im almost embarassed to post this but my wireless xbox 360 controller fell prey to street fighter 4's final boss seth ie it got airborne and was brought to a sudden halt by my bookshelf.

now its a nice rattle.

is there any way this can be fixed

it does not turn on and there is a component loose inside. i havent had a chance to open it. but before i try just wanted to know if it was worth the
trouble

You need a T6 torx screwdriver to open the controller.

If it's something that broke loose, the best bet it to replace it with the innards of another controller.

It its something important like an eletronic component, then a soldering iron, soldering equipment and patience is needed.
