I've been experiencing very inconsistent SNR values recently. Tried all the tricks I know, checked lines, new filters etc, but nothing has helped. The problem was very irregular and not even every day. I just couldn't tell what was going on... Until yesterday...
We have a medium sized vinyl cutter in the office that we use every 2nd day or so, I noticed yesterday that the second it starts cutting, my SNR goes to between 4 and 0. I tested the theory again this morning and proved that it was definitely the Vinyl cutter. I then did some research on the possibility of a motor or electric device interfering with an ADSL line and lo and behold I found Repetitive Electrical Impulse Noise (REIN).

So I am going to relocate the Vinyl cutter next week and see if it stops the SNR issues completely.... Thought I would share this info with you guys, maybe, just maybe it can help someone else
