Replace Duel decoder with HD one

Hello ,

My dad has 2 duel DSTV decoders at home and I would liek to buy him a HD PVR one. My question is will it work ? Will he still be able to watch on the second decoder ? The one is in his room and one in a generl area and I would like to replace the one in his room for him - (kinda belated fathers day present)

How does he have 2 dual view decoders running, is he paying 2 subscriptions?
If they are the old dual view then he cant link it with a HDPVR
If its a SDPVR then he can
You will need at least a multiswitch to operate a HDPVR + SDPVR assuming you have a twin LNB

Sorry , found out he has something called extraview , sorted it out with multichoice , supplier doing the job tomorrow. getting a PVR2 which means he has to get one extra cable installed for the decoder.
