Hi Forum,

I'm in need of your expertise.

I dropped my external hard drive and it does not detect on my laptop.

When I plug it in, the drive is powered on and the disk spins. I also DON'T hear a 'clicking/ticking sound. I want to try and replace the PC board that the drive plugs into, as I can see that some pins are not soldered/fixed to the board anymore.

Does anyone know where I can order this board from? What info would be needed to get a replacement? What should I be made aware of or any info that will help me out.

Details:
HDD - Samsung: Model HM500JI
P/N : 33851-F14A-ALYM6
S/N: S1WFJDSZ218218
Rearside of HDD: A sticker with " Warranty void if removed.
M7S2
D45Z1261AN "

PC Board: IN1608-M100-712F Ver1.5

Appreciate any help :-)

Probably easier to get another 2.5" container and transplant the HDD into there...
