Hi there.

I have a oldish Ipod touch 32gb but I am running out of space to easily(Because I don't want to take stuff off every time I want to add more music)
I don't want to purchase a new ipod yet as am thinking that you are restricted again in size capacity wise.

So I am thinking of replacing it with a phone for time being either a iPhone 5 64gb or similar android phone.

I don't have a android phone so I am not sure how the quality(it also depends on the quality of the mp3 I am aware of this) is on the phones for using it as a MP3 player.

The benefit of the iPhone is that I know the quality that it outputs
The android phones normally have the option of a micro sd card so I can increase capacity in an instant.

1. The only requirements I have is that the device needs to be light in weight and user friendly that can store the music per album

2. Should not break the bank.
3. Needs to be smallish that I can carry it in my pocket.
Any ideas are welcome?

iPod Touch [2015] supports Apple Music. You can signup for the US / ZA store one and try it for 3 Months. Allows for offline syncing so you will always have the latest of your favourite music.

The only reason i suggest this is because you are already familiar with having an iPod :).

Thanks for the suggestion, I do use it, but my problem is size for my personal collections.

Somebody suggested maybe to look into getting second hand Samsung S4 mini and add a sd card.

Do let us know what you decide to do :).

What is your monthly budget if you are going to take a device? Would you be interested in taking a 3 year contract if you got an iPhone [iPod built-in] from around R399.00 p.m with 64GB capacity? see here :p.

I was just looking at that page hence i linked you to it, there are always options so am not trying to push an iOS device here :).

Well I guess for those purposes, a super cheap and small Samsung phone would work, like even the Galaxy Pocket, as long as you could put an SD card in there. But for me I've never found Android phones to be very good as MP3 players, and I don't currently use my S6 to listen to anything - rather stick with my iPod Nano. So for me, I'd rather go for a 64gb iPod than an Android phone if I'm using it purely as a music player. The Nano is fine as long as you are doing all the content management on the desktop.

I have a Iphone 6 plus so I really dont need a contract.
I just need to buy something cash that could replace the ipod for me.

Mmm interesting, well then I guess I just have to maybe take off stuff and put it back on again on the ipod

Nothing wrong with an android phone and you can use Google Music or Deezer to stream the songs and/or download it offline.
