Replacement battery for Blackberry PRIV -advice please!

Would like to ask the MYBB experts for their advice please!

I have been using a Blackberry Priv for the last 3 years.

It has some quirks, but not a bad phone and I would like to continue using it, BUT it needs a new battery.

The battery is readily available overseas –it is a BAT-60122-003 for Blackberry PRIV STV-100

I have tried the following:

  • Ordered a battery from Aliexpress 3 months ago, it never arrived, probably stolen or lost by the Post Office.
  • Ordered a battery from Wantitall (courier delivery) they cancelled the order (profuse apologies) as the supplier cannot ship lithium batteries (prohibition order)!
I am now considering a new phone (Apple or Samsung), but I would rather fix my Blackberry.

I can get through the day, by carrying the phone and a powerbank, and recharge twice a day, but can’t do this for much longer!

Anyone have any ideas or advice – much appreciated!
 
That is definitely an option!

Just irks me that one cannot replace a battery, because Amazon and EBay will not ship to SA (presumably because of the Post Office)
and other suppliers are slapped with prohibition orders banning shipment of batteries!

I am sure one can ship a phone internationally but not a battery, what is the difference?
 
Can't even find that battery on Amazon.com. I have a third Apple iPhone (6, SE, Xr) and I am happy with that. I had a Sony Xperia Z1 before the 6, but the Z5 would have been too expensive so I shifted to an iPhone on contract.

most idiotic thing ever is making batteries for cellphones non removable and expensive.

its the only piece of hardware that wears out, and should be the simplest to change,
almost like not giving you a oil fill hole for your car, simply take it in to a dealer to get it refilled.

Or expecting your local pc shop to stock new 128MB PC-100 ram for your PIII.
