Hi, I drive a 2008 335i which I bought a year and a half ago. Life has thrown us a curve and at age 37 I became a dad again.:D

Problem is the 335i is not a baby carrier and I was looking at a bigger car.

My options are a 5 series 530i, Audi A6 3.0T or the new E Class Merc E350.

Can anyone give any advice on the above vehicles. It does not have to be an out and out sprinter but i would still like to occasionally thrash some GTI and upset the wife.;)

Tx

Jeez, you're lucky to have such nice choices. I'd go for the Benz.

I'd give them all a drive of course.....

The E-Class will be by far the smoothest ride if you ask me....
But the Audi might be nicer inside, and of course the Beemer (if you can get a lsightly bigger engine) will be the best handling

All of them are good . . . Thank you for supporting Germany :D I hear there are lots of German motorcars in South Africa. Is it true?

No,

There are lots of motor cars of varying marques...

The majority of them are Japanese marques though, not German...

Hi thanks for the reply, I will check the links though we dont get the the 535i here. I was considering the Jag but as I usually finance over 36 months I would not be happy with the value after 3 years. As for Lexus, I know that technically they not the same brand but my Toyota Experience has been less than satisfactory in fact I promised myself I would never buy one again. At the moment I am keen on the Audi. I think I would seem a bit of a dick chasing GTI's in an E Class. On the other hand I have been offered a real good deal on a 5 series but its a bit on the ugly side.

To the guy that thanked me for considering German vehicles, whats up with that dude? Is it that bad out there? ;-)

5-series is old. There's a new shape coming out in the near-ish future AFAIK.

Subaru or Volvo?

Subaru, wife will leave me Volvo been there done that wont go back. I can tell u things like brake discs being loose on delivery and techies not being able to find the fault. Fuel pump piping being too close to turbo manifold causing pipe to melt and more. Lets not talk about the trade in value. Paid in 70k to get rid of car even though I paid 50k deposit on car 18 months earlier.
