I have a perfectly good new helmet which some chump at work dropped on the cement...

Need I explain what that did to the visor?

Any idea where in Pretoria I can get a replacement? Preferably tinted as well. Got sensitive eyes etc.

ps. Am I the only guy that want to get off of my bike and smack the begeezus out of every kid I see with one of those helmet mohawks? Looks almost as stupid as bumpernuts...

Maybe rather smack the begeezus out of said chump?

CIT in Hatfield, Biking Accessories is right next door (both in Pretorius st. on your right just before the Subaru dealership), Mean Machine in Menlyn motor city (almost under the spur), Honda Menlyn has an accessory shop up stairs, Suzuki toy store in Centurion close to the old Splash.
If you want to drooooool for hours over nice kit and parts for your bike then head off to Full throttle in Edenvale..... they stock almost everything and you'll probably walk out with a few more things than just a new visor :)

Wait for said "mohawk kids" to fall off bike, mohawk catches and snaps their necks... it's Darwin, life with smooth things out!

My understanding is that once a helmet has been dropped it needs to be replaced - not sure if this really the case, but would suggest you ask the bike shop guys about it when replacing the visor. Helmet is the most important protective gear, so I wouldn't want it compromised.
BTW, also had a chump do this with my helmet at work, but fortunately not dropped far and was carpeted.

"Never drop your helmet – Dropping your helmet may crack the shell or damage the protective foam. The damage may not be visible. Your helmet is only designed for ONE impact."

from : http://www.hjchelmets.com/helmet_usage.htm

But realistically, I think it depends on the height dropped, surface, age of helmet, etc, so one would need to use discretion.

Helmets are like drunken goggas w/out bladder control. They're bound to have oopsies. I consider myself lucky though, I do enduro's but tend to only fall on my shoulders. Helmet has survived 5 years so far and no major bumps other than drops off the table
