Replacement LCD Panels

Hi all,

Anyone here know where in SA one can just buy LCD Panels for notebooks.

All these panels are made by either Samsung, Toshiba, etc. and then used by HP, Dell, etc in their notebooks. A qoute to repair a LCD Panel from these okes are like R 5000 - R 7000. I bought a 22" LCD Screen with the casing everything for R 2700. So somewhere something does not add up.

Pirate parts is fine by me as these machines in question are out of warranty anyway, but where to get.

Just to clarify just the actual panel (excluding casing)

Any ideas?

I have no idea honestly. I gave it up as a bad joke many years ago when I used to have a laptop.

Seriously though, getting surplus LCD screens is quite difficult at this stage. I am looking for them myself for my projects.

Maybe you should list the model(s) and screen size. Perhaps someone has an old broken notebook and would like to get a bit of money for the screen.
