Hey all
im looking at repairing 2 broken laptops
1 needs replacing of a cracked lcd screen
the other needs an lcd inverter

Packard Bell Screen - lp121wx1
Acer 3002wtmi lcd inverter - as023215710 a1a

they both fairly old, so im trying to spend as little as possible to get them working
I cant seem to find the inverter locally, but can find the screen @ about +-R1200
But thats about double what im prepared to spend on the screen

What online stores should I look at when trying to import these spare??
I have found a few and the prices are cheap, but all these stores look a bit dodge
Any help recommendations will be appreciated...

You already have the data you need to check against their stocklist, head on over to Laptop Accessories. Who are very well known around these parts and, as it happens I recently bought a screen from them, that I had couriered ..and which was also without incident. That's it for the local, really. For int'l, have you looked at PCHub?

thanks ive come across laptop accesories
the screen is about R1500
I dont think its worth getting it fixed at that price

international shipping from ebay if you dont want to pay local prices always works out cheaper on spares

screen with shipping around R800:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Advent-9912...ther_Computing_Networking&hash=item257781a6fb

inverter, R200 - though it says used, im sure you could find others if you look harder
http://www.ebay.com/itm/LAPTOP-LCD-...uting_CablesConnectors_RL&hash=item1c2c693d37

purchased a few screens off ebay and all work just fine, make sure you get the correct model number
