Hi guys

Little one has thrown the keys in the water and now the remote and central locking of car does not work. Got to manually open it with the keys and use the housing under the driver seat to activate the ignition to start the car.

Anyone know of a place in ct that can program it or replace the remote.

I just called a place and they asking over R700 for a new remote, bloody crazy

Sorry, but I laughed when I read that.

I can't help, but given what other manufacturers charge for a replacement key, I think R700 is not that bad at all.

R700 seems reasonable?

Strip it apart, remove batteries and leave it to soak (fully immersed) in some methylated spirits for a day or two.

Use a soft brush to clean out the board as well. Leave to air dry, put in new batteries and try it again.

This method has worked with cellphones and gate remotes ;)

I actually took it apart and put it in a bowel of rice, yeah a bowel of uncooked rice.

Somehow people said that it soakes out the water

This is funny - the storage guys have just lost the keys to one of our new cars ( keyless start) and it has just cost 30k to get it running again.

Thank the Pope that you are looking at a mere R 700! :D
