I hit a pothole and blew one of my front tires.
The new one is a different brand to the other tire.
Do I need to replace both front tires?

If wear isn't to big difference and brand/pattern is the same, would probably not matter. But my OCP would not allow me to do that.
Best would be to have the mismatched tires at the back.

EDIT: Is your spare the same brand (full tire)? Maybe you can put that on and put the mismatched one in the trunk.

The replacement tyre needs to be the same tyre pattern as the one on the opposite side axle. You can usually solve the problem by swopping with the spare (if you have a full size spare). Otherwise buy another tyre that is the same brand and model as the opposite one.

Ideally yes, but if you can't afford another (tyres are expensive!) put two matching tyres on the front and the new one on the back.

This happen to me about 8 months after fitting 4 new tyres. I replaced both front tyres, and relegated the one tyre as a spare, seeing as my spare was the original spare and was more than 10 years old.

Personal preference but I'd rotate the mismatch pair to the rear unless the rear tires are getting a bit worn.

I’d say preferably as well mainly because of more wear on the opposite tyre?

Alternatively, if your spare is the same as your other tires and not the mini spare tire. You could use that tyre to replace the front tyre that doesn’t need replacement, so you’ll have 2 new front tyres

And the spare can be a little used, and you can change it if you want when you get spare cash

Spare is a donut.
Not sure if a full size tire will fit.

Ah no. Sorry thought it might have a full size. Some vehicles have full size matching whats on the car
Maybe it can fit a full size. Will have to check.
Just need it running again.

Hahaha...I tend to agree. As long as the sizes are exactly the same...thread pattern will have no effect on your car.
Doesnt matter, its not a supercar. replace that one tire and call it a day..

Im with these two ... I had mismatched tyres (as in make and tread) plenty of times ... not something you pick up while driving.

Replace the single tyre.

Put the rear tyres on the front and the new tyre and old front on the rear.
