I have a Panasonic mp3 car radio in my Aveo that I might need to replace as it has a mind of it's own nowadays.

The one's you buy from Hi-fi corp, is it easy to replace a standard car radio in cars?
Can I do it myself?

Depends on the car and your technical skill when it comes to wiring as I don't know the Aveo ;)

If it's a standard headset not built into the console you may or may not need a tool to remove the radio's mounting bracket and unplugging/chopping off the electronic harness and antenna connectors. Installing a replacement will then just be the inverse process

Yes you can but car audio installers charge something like R150 or so which ain't munch.

It is quite easy. Be careful taking out the old one as you don't want to damage any plastic parts

If there is a non-standard connector, use an AAA battery to identify the speakers. A soft "plop" will sound as you touch the leads on. The striped colour is +ve
Then you need to identify the power, it will be red or yellow and will give you 12V+ when the ignition is on to AUX
The aerial usually has a flying lead
On top of the new radio will be a chart showing the speaker connections/colours

^THIS^

Plus you have the benefit of (should anything go wrong with the head unit) HIFI CORP is GONNA ask: Was it installed at an "approved installer". Even if they whack you R300 - Its worth the scraped knuckles and 3 hours its going to take you.

True.

Well i have ordered the radio, if I can't manage or struggle in the slightest ill take it into the pro's.

ok, this i have already

http://www.ebay.com/itm/SUZUKI-CHEV...ALL-/331018349066?hash=item4d123b2a0a&vxp=mtr

It was further in the compartment so did not see it to take a picture, i see that white connector in the picture clips into a white connector coming from power and speakers i assume.
It then goes into the back of a grey connector in my pictures into the rear of the radio

In that case it should be a simple and easy swap out that you can DIY.

try an external HDD although wont lie , I struggled with my LG frontloader to get it to pick up;

never actually managed to get it to work even if I formatted and tried a few diffrent times with diffrent cases;

That's pretty useless advice...

ill be honest here, I tried my 32GB in my LG USB front loader, didnt pick up;

tried same one in the brio head unit, said USB empty;

the manual of the brio even specifically said no memory stick over 256MB:D

he might be fine, but I do know that certin size USB not always working with all frontloaders;

you need to try format it and then it only works for x amount of songs;
