I have a Ford Fiesta 2005 Hatchback with central locking (uses the same ford key to unlock doors, boot and fuel cap as well as to start the car). I am having some trouble with several of the locks, namely:

Passenger door won't unlock from outside at all.
Driver door starting to stick a bit
Fuel Cap lock completely stuck.

Where could I go to get all the locks serviced or replaced and what cost am I looking at for that?
I am located around Durbanville, Cape Town.

Hi

I am not sure about the cost but if I was you, I would look at simply linking the central locking to a remote.

My locks were giving me issues(someone tried to break in and damaged the drivers lock) so i just had an autowatch installer link my central locking with my alarm so now when I disarm the alarm, the doors unlock and when I arm the alarm, the doors lock

Hope this helps

How do you lock the doors when you're driving along?

Well it autolocks when the ignition is turned on and unlocks when ignition is turned off.

You can also get a luck/unlock button fixed on your hand brake console or alternatively, you can lock, unlock with the remote

Where did you go for that? What did it cost?

A family member has the same issue with a Yaris. They tried to break into the car with the driver's door and now the passenger door doesn't lock but still unlocks the car.

I've looked into these alarms but they're a bit pricey for a workaround solution... Rather spend a little more and get the locks sorted out.

Well i paid R750 but already had the central locking installed. So all he did was replace the factory system with an autowatch level 4 system and programmed it using the iginition. It was actually interesting to see him program it using the number of times the lights flash

autowizards in maitland will be able to do it relatively quickly, they are probably closed today but you can try them tomorrow
