So my PC is screwed. It reboots randomly with some hardware error. I am not interested in troubleshooting and spending weeks and thousands of Rands replacing a component at a time. It is time for a replacement/upgrade.

The small computer stores have great specials but I know that they always throw some cheap components in to get the price that low and I am not interested in that. So I want to buy a completely assembled box with quality components.

But I am thinking of maybe getting a laptop this time because I would actually be able to use it during the blackouts and I would be able to take it to my girlfriend's flat when I visit her.

Any ideas on laptops versus desktop and where I can find quality for a decent price?

The Asus G series laptops are very good quality/build but that quality comes at a big price...
