Replacing Tablet,, had Samsung

Hi

I have had my Samsung 10.1 Galaxy Note (GT N8000) tablet for about 2 years but have managed to stuff the screen up somehow so need to replace it.

I was quite happy with it.
What is the latest from Samsung? I remember when trying to make head or tail of their product range when I bought the above it was just as confusing and frustrating as now. I am assuming its the TabS??

On Apple side I see the Air2, but honestly not sure if I am going Apple unless there are some compelling reasons to do so that anyone can offer.

One question, did you ever use the pen seriously? If yes, then you have to go with the Note 10.1 2014 or the Note 12. If not, then anything else will work.

Got my tab s 10.5" a month ago, love it, such an upgrade from my ipad 3

Initially not to be honest.
I did find it quite useful taking quick notes though from time to time and it's functionality did grow on me as a result after a while.

It's not a game breaker as it is a bit finicky. A nice to have for me at least is all after 2 or so years with the tablet.

Is there anything (besides the pen) like connectivity etc I should be aware of when choosing a new Samsung device if the pen is not a big issue?
I need wifi for sure, fast mobile, bt etc.
