Request for ADSL experiences

Please only facts, Services purchased, dates, use volumes, issues, problems etc.
I would like to copile a whole document of experiences and complaints as per this example below, to create a document of all the bad and good experiences of 56K dialup to ADSLXX upgrade and then ADSL192 to 384 or 1024 upgrades. Pros cons, what You had, what You thought Youd get, what you have now. We know what we are going to get? Keep it simple and direct. I will extract what I can from this forum (Help me if You want) and also place it in this thread and the document. I want to send this document to Telkom shareholders and management, Icasa, blogs, papers or whatever, wherever anybody to fight this so called advancement of services Telkom and Mweb advertisement use to lure people to this fiasco to be, maybe if I can, even put a advert in a major paper ? or on a website (Hellkom MyADSL) for easy access and read as summary . I want to include the bad and the good with a ratio of comparison. Include if you can the Services you use extensively ..p2p..VoIP, data volume use 3 Gig..?, how long it takes to get capped, How long you have ADSL, how the service degraded or improved..Whatever

Been following this forum for some months now(only registered today).
Been on 384adsl for 3 months now,upgraded from 56k.For those who feel the 1G ADSL is to move 56k users...talk for yourself and not for them.I can do more on 56k than this 1G crap.I can stream radio(32k stream fine),i can download at night or weekends with the R7 plan,whatever i want...all i need is patience.When you move from 56k to 1g adsl you actually move backwards. ..........................

Donaldza I need facts, dates, what happened experiences etc without the **@@** and emotions like the sample or if You want rant I will edit the main issues and get al the facts highlighted

Hi,

My experinces :

1. Office. Telkom Internet and obvioulsy ASDL. 512 with 5100 router. 4 PCs with Win 2000 connected. All working well. Don't achive 512 more like 384, but much faster than 56k modem with added advantage of having 4 PCs attached. Telkom took approx 6 weeks to install. Presently looking at upgrading to 1024. reasonably content exceot for prices.

2. Home. Telkom ASDL with Marconi WIFI Router and MWEB as ISP with 3 Gb cap. 2 Pcs hardwired running win xp pro. 1 laptop with usb dongle (Telkom). System working well for internet and home networking. Speed supsect and international occasionally seems very slow. Signed 2 year contract with telkom. Prices a bit high but total bill cheaper that 56 k modem which rarely achieved more than 36kbp. Telokm took 3 weeks to install system and three phone calls plus 2 faxes.
