Request: Kingklip recipes

angelfish is very cheap

saw its like R15 a kg at this fisheries in CPT
Sometimes on special you'll get it for R12/ kg. There's a factory in Blackheath where you pick up very fresh Angel for R10/kg, sometimes less depending how good the catch.

dammit and ocean basket includes that as the catch of the day

its cheaper than hake

but not as tasty ...but quite good

fish similar to kinglip I love is Pangasius

You forget that hake is not a firm fish and hence, limits one's options.

As for 'Derailment Squad', anything you'd like to share re recent events ?:D

So sam gave advice on how to cook kingklip, but then starts a thread asking for advice on how to cook kingklip, having never cooked kingklip before... hmmmmmmmm

smells fishy

You could boil it with steamed veg on the side and baby potatoes.
Melt some butter, chop some dill and chives very fine add to the butter, and pour over everything.

boil/steam in a pan with water and have a lid over it ?

You could do it that way , i just boil it in pot of water.
Water in pot, salt the water to prevent boiling over, put fish in pot, bring to the boil.
By the time the water comes to the boil , the fish should be pretty much done, no need to let it boil for any real length of time.
You can also reserve the water afterwards and use it as a nice base for fish soup.
