Rescuers turn into robbers

Happens with pedestrains in car accidents too, I saw it myself. Black guy was hit by a car (didn't see that) and he was passed out, I drove past this little crowd next to the road (R55) and I saw the people (mostly teenaged black boys) with their hands in this passed out guys pockets. I stopped and pulled out my pickaxe handle and they all ran away when they saw me approaching. I established that he was still breathing and I called the emergency services and eventually an ambulance piched. I noticed they had taken his shoes too. Scum! The poor guy was a victim of a hit and run and these bastards steal his stuff too.

Not the first time this has happened either. Couple of years ago a mate of mine also had to do a forced landing in the squatter camp. The people tried to help the guys out of the wreckage, but only after kindly relieving them of their headsets and cellphone and money etc. Gets my blood boiling.

They also cut the fence all around the airfield so that they have a short cut to the road...little kids playing right next to the threshold...pets running around just waiting to run into a turning prop....urgh. Otherwise it's a great airfield. Glad the two got out and lived to tell the (rather sad) tale. :(
 
a tv program recently shown here on bbc shows some uk paramedics going to s.a. for some experience training...a previously disadvantaged south african was run over, the paramedics pitched up, he was wailing, crying, obviously in pain.

having the advantage of understanding afrikaans, he was also saying "make sure my tekkies dont get stolen at the hospital"...this came form the moutbh of a bloke who had multiple broken bones and was bleeding from his head, yet his first priority was to protect his shoes.

when they got him to the hospital he had his tekkies off, and was guarding them..i swear this bloke didnt want to go sleep in case his shoes were stolen, from the hospital. i got the impression this happens from time to time.

makes me angry that humans can stoop so low to steal from a person who has been injured.

Happens daily. Theft in the public hospitals is rampant.
