Big upgrade to Reserve Bank payment system in South Africa
The South African Reserve Bank (SARB) has upgraded the QR+ standard of its digital payment programme, enabling more businesses and users to make payments more easily and quickly.
Before the upgrade, a single store counter might use multiple QR codes for specific banks or payment facilitators. With the new standard, these can be replaced by a single, standardised QR code.
