I dunno if anyone can help. Cousins got a password on his memory card - and doesnt remember what it is now. Is there anyway to format it or do something to remove the password. Vodacare couldnt help.

What type of memory card is it and in what device is it in?

sorry.... 6260 with a 256mb mmc.
Vodacare suggested putting it into a 9210, has the option to reformat it - (but where to get a 9210). Help.

Oops, my bad. Mine is MMC as well.

I'm going to try putting it in my camera and formatting it.

I'll let you know tomorrow if it worked.

Find somebody with one of dem fancy stiffy drives with all of dem card slots and format it using windows ?
P.S. I have 2 of dem fancy stiffy drives and have never tried to use it, so cannot confirm if it will work.

I have one of dem fings but it's USB. Tried it but it hangs my machine:(

I have an internal card reader in my notebook, as well as an external USB one, and have managed to format my MMC cards using either of the two, so it should work

Even though the card is password protected?

What I get from googling is this

install FExplorer, find the "mmcstore" file and open it to see the password.

If that doesn't work, try and format it I guess :)

OK, that's all fine and well if you still have the phone. I have the memory card and a camera that it will work in but it's password protected.

I was gonna ask the same thing....
Erm, didn't think of that. no, mine wasn't pwd protected.

I can however put a password on one and test for you :D

That would be a great help - cause that seems like the way to go....

Sorry guys, I'm back.

This might sound silly, but how do I put a password on the memory card?

LOL - LM, they put the password on from the phone. It is an option in the phones menu that you select to put the password on.
