Resignation and Leave Pay Out

Hi guys.

I'm ready to quit my job after three months. I've found greener pastures. I'd like to know if there's any timeframe attached to leave pay out, for eg. you have to had worked for x amount of months. We receive our full annual leave at the day you start working there, so I have a lot of days left.

I don't think it works that way. You're normally allowed x days of leave per year (the minimum being 15 days, so 1.25 days per month).

Even if your company has opted to load up all your leave at the start of the year and then rather subtracts it as you go along, I'm pretty sure they'll calculate leaving owing like this: '((Annual Leave / 12) * number of months stayed) - Leave days already taken = Leave payable upon resignation'

Normally 1.25 days per 21 working days. So after 3 completed months you should have 3.75 days.

Yeah the totalling of forecasted annual leave on paper is purely for ease of use of the system, and to allow employees to effectively take "negative leave". In reality you'll have accumulated 3.75 days in 3 months, and if you've taken more than that you'll owe them money out of your final month's salary!
