Hey guys what's your opinions on these things for toning up at home?
Anyone use them?
If so which would you recommend?
Woukd be nice to do some kind of resistance training at home but I don't know if these are gimmicks.

Thanks in advance
I see they come with different kg ratings.

Why not just buy some proper weights? Sportsmans warehouse have a nice little kit to get you started

But if you're set on resistance bands go for something like this

They're no gimmick and you can do a huge variety of movements

I use a combo of both weights and bands.. Bands if I'm feeling lazy

I'm currently using a resistance band and 2 small kettlebell bells (5, 10kg), for about a month, they really good for a quick 10 to 15 minute workout

I have this one. I bought it because I dint have enough money to buy weights. These do work.
elastic band workout is different to doing weights. I dont know how to best explain this but when u stretch the band during workout its resistance increases when u stretch it more. Where as when u do weights the resistance is constant.
I once read somewhere long time ago in a health magazine that resistance band workout tend to affect certain type of muscle fiber and weights different ones.... blah blah, so u can attach bands to weights to get improved effect.

If u are short on cash and need some workout at home, I will say go for it..

Check this out on takealot: Athleum Sports 11 Piece Resistance Bands Exercise Kit

They have their place and you can definitely do some cool exercises. But for me they are a supplementary aid and not enough to be used as a primary tool

You don't need to buy a full gym on day one, just get something to start you off and then add to your collection. It will of course pay itself back, but you need to actually use them as well.

You only ever need to do 2 exercises...and both need no equipment.

Pushups
Squats

yes, this is what I was referring to :

its enough to get started

I have been using loop bands for the past 2 months consistently 3 days a week, because with work and studying, and the house duties time isn't on my side.

My workout has basically been a full body split, primarily sticking to big compound moments and variations of it ie, squats, push ups, deadlift, shoulder press. I have been doing pull up alternatives as I don't have a pull up bar.

I must say it's pretty awesome and people have been saying I am looking a lot better and muscular. The SO has also been saying she is seeing lots of improvements. Overall I can definitely feel improvements in my body, I can see it for myself, and my strength has increased dramatically.

I am now looking to add on and trying to find some space at home for dip bars and a pull up bar as well as getting kettlebells.

I don't think this is the do all and end all with getting a good build but so far it's working for me and has made a positive change to leading a better lifestyle.

Here are the bands I am using. I went from using the red to now using the purple and green ones

Even the light type of resistance bands like these can do useful work if you use them correctly. They may seem a bit tame if you're into bodybuilding or lifting but they can give you decent workout and you can easily adjust the intensity by wrapping the band around your hand or otherwise tightening it.

In particular, where this type of band comes into it's own is training the different movements of the joints - flexion, extension, abduction, adduction and internal/external rotation. Cover these movements for a joint in your workout and you will have targeted the muscle groups involved fairly comprehensively.

Hi everyone, I know this is a little random, but I'd need your help, for my studies I'd need to collect information about resistance band usage. I have a lot of trouble finding active users so I was wondering if you can help me out and answer this super short 4 question survey (multiple choice)
