When I first got my Afrihost mifi (Huawei E5331) a week ago, its wifi was working perfectly and I was impressed with both the speed and wireless range. It was wonderful. Or so I thought.

Yesterday, when coming back to the mifi after not using it for a few days, my devices could see the network, but not connect. Error messages alternated between "Connection timeout" "Unable to join the network" and "invalid password" (this last one came up despite not having changed the password at the time).

I've since changed the SSID and password, done a reset and a firmware update, and the problem still isn't solved.

If it helps, I hadn't fiddled with any of the settings prior to experiencing this issue, and it does at least connect when using it as a dongle.

I know I'm probably overlooking something obvious. Do you people have any other ideas?

Thank you, that worked!

The original default setting was "Auto," shouldn't that have made the device switch channels whenever there was interference?

Pleasure.

Yes, it should, but sometimes technology does not always work the way it's supposed to :D
