Hey Guys,
I just upgraded my work pc from xp to 7. I backed up the previous outlook to a .pst and saved it on a flash drive. After formatting the pc I copied the pst to C:\Users\*username*\AppData\Local\Microsoft\outlook. I set up my email account and choose the old pst. Now the problem is if I try to start outlook normally it fails to open, giving this message:
pst.png
If I run it in administrator mode it gives this message:
pst2.png
I really need instant search as I use it quite a lot. Any help with this will be appreciated.
Thanks

Perform an import of the .pst file in the same way as you created the export, i.e. same menu, a couple of steps down.

First set up Outlook, THEN IMPORT the backup file.

Thanks, this worked. I moved the old pst to mydocs. Deleted the old profile and set up a new profile an imported everything from the old pst
