Good afternoon

I stay in a township we have speed bump sometime when you drive, through them the front bumper at the bottom will scratch. As some speed bump are big.

I just noticed my car has a small scratch the scratch is very small, you can hardly see it. But I just discovered that my car front bumper is resprayed, my car is silver but it look like the original colour of the bumper was red. Looking underneath confirmed the bumper is resprayed.

In a case like this do I inform the broker/insurance God forbidden, but if something does happen they don't ask lot of questions. I bought the car second hand low mileage and I did some tests the car has never been involved in an accident. No report of it being involved in accident.

But I wonder why the front bumper is different from the car body colour.

Can we be serious I think if it was stolen they could have noticed by now. The car came with full service history from Honda and it had one free service left.

Maybe the bumper damage was not claimed through insurance, the accident report mostly list claims done through insurance, maybe the previous owner had a high excess and a friendly panelbeater offered a used bumper and fixed the damage at a lower price?

And yes inform your insurance.

If it was accident damaged previously the salesman should have disclosed in fairness.

That being said. If the repair was done properly and with oem parts I wouldn't be to concerned. Accident repairs aren't a big concern if there was no structural damage. Try asking a dealer to run your VIN and see if any parts were ordered against your car. Reputable panelbeaters will use your VIN when ordering replacement parts.

For peace of mind maybe check if your headlights are oem units.

Don't think it's necessary to inform insurance. You weren't involved in any accident.

If you want to respray your bumper you will pay R2k up.

Just went to one of the mechanic guy here in my area, he said the was involved in a minor accident. Some panel beating work was done on the front and the bumper was replaced. He said it look like it was a minor accident nothing to worry about everything still in place.

I was not informed of this when I bought the car. I would be lying been driving the car for over a year now never experienced issues with it.

The car was driven by an old lady she relocated to Australia, that is what they told me at the dealer. I have insurance and maintenance plan should I inform them.

Scratch around the car to see if the whole thing was resprayed.

Hahahahaha funny the damage was around the front bumper, the mechanic guy said the is nothing to worry about . But I will call the dealer tomorrow I'm sure they will deny it. I'm more concern about insurance if something happen they can use this against my claim.

You'd be lucky To find a 2nd hand car that didn't go through any spray job(s).

classic dealer story, old lady that relocated lol if you want to find the whole of gautengs dealers in one place just go to SMD accident salvage auctions, youll find them there.

very few honest trade in cars on the floors these days, mostly accident repair cars. how else can entire cities like vereeniging be built upon car dealerships and they all survive, every car owner in the town would have to trade in a car each month to rotate the anount of cars they do

is it not maybe the primer you are seeing. they primer is a different colour before they spray a car.

Are you sure it's not just the undercoat or rust proofing you are seeing?

Or even the plastic for that matter.
